Freshman Co-Ed P.E./Wellness  (Grade 9)


Wellness is the combination of health and physical education. During the two nine weeks of health, the class will cover the health topics: mental and social health, human development, nutrition and fitness, drug, tobacco, and alcohol prevention, preventing diseases, enviroment and community health and the first aid.

Physical Dimensions is the core curriculum for the two nine weeks of PE. During PE the students will have the opportuniy to participate health related fitness games and lifetime sports.

This course is designed to provide the students with knowledge and skills needed to engage in a physically active, healthy lifestyle throughout life.

 

 

 

Fitness and Conditioning  (Grades 10-12)


Lifetime Fitness and Wellness, introduces the student to the fundamental relationship between physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.  This will be done through weight training that will have a pre/post test throughout the year.  It will also involve cardio days and plyometric days that require a lot of jumping and running.  There will be days where we play a fitness game, but the majority of this class will be focused on weight training, and cardio respiratory system.

 

 

 

 

Weight Training  (Grades 9-12)


This course is designed to give students the opportunity to learn weight training concepts and techniques used for obtaining optimal physical fitness. Students will benefit from comprehensive weight training and cardiorespiratory endurance activities. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of weight training, strength training, aerobic training, and overall fitness training and conditioning. Course includes both lecture and activity sessions. Students will be empowered to make wise choices, meet challenges, and develop positive behaviors in fitness, wellness, and movement activity for a lifetime.
